Brief introduction of research:
 
Dr. GUO Shijie got his Master’s degree and Doctor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1989 and 1992, respectively. He was recruited as an innovative talent (Long term) of the national 1000 plan in 2016. He is currently the head of the Hebei Key Laboratory of Robot Sensing and Human-robot Interaction, the principal scientist of the National Joint Key Laboratory of Electric Equipment of Hebei Province and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and the chief editor of the journal of Hebei University of Technology (natural science). His research interests are human-robot interaction, flexible robot skin, manipulation of flexible body based on tactile information, as well as unconstrained measurement of vital information. The main applications of his research includes nursing-care robots, walking assist robots, smart care beds, etc. He got a number of academic awards in the past five years including the best paper award of Journal of Robotics and Mechatronics, the Ingenious Dynamic Award of Sumitomo Electric Group. The RIBA-II nursing care robot developed by his team was elected by the Japan Business Weekly as one of the 100 innovative technologies in 2011. He has published over 60 EI/SCI papers. He holds 29 patents.
