Research Experience:
Dr. Suhana Koting
is currently working as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil
Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya, Malaysia. In
addition, she is also the core member of the Center for Transportation Research
(CTR) since 2005, committee member (2014-2018) and treasurer (2018-2020) for
the Transportation Science Society of Malaysia (TSSM) and a member of Malaysia
Clean Air Society (MyCas) since 2018. Since 2005, she has involved in various
research projects and consultation works related to transportation engineering
areas. Some of the research projects are; laboratory testing for asphaltic
concrete core samples, laboratory testing for asphalt binder properties,
understanding and quantifying driver behaviour characteristics, travel behavior
study of the Petaling Jaya City Bus, first-last mile connectivity study and
etc. In addition, she has published various articles in national and
international journals, and national and international conferences. Apart of
that, she is also the reviewer in the international journals and conferences,
and editorial board member for several international journals. She also
received several awards, i.e. gold and silver medal in University of Malaya
Exposition, Research, Invention and Innovation in 2007 and 2009. Currently, she
is actively supervising postgraduate students and working on several
researches, i.e. utilization of Coal Bottom Ash as aggregates and filler
replacement, potential of using oil palm clinker in the asphaltic concrete
mixes, first and last mile connectivity studies, and etc.
