Research Experience:
Prof. Zhu received his bachelor degree and master degree of engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology (China) in 2001 and 2003 respectively. He received his degree of Doctor of Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2007. Now he is a permanent faculty of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan). Currently he serves as an Assistant Professor.
Prof. Zhu used to work in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan) as a Visiting Professor in 2017. He also worked in Technical University of Munich (German) as a visiting scholar in 2017, and in University of Minnesota (USA) as a visiting scholar in 2018.
Prof. Zhu is the member of Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), Japan Society for Precision Engineering (JSPE), Japan Society for Abrasive Technology (JSAT). He is the editor of Journal of JSPE, and reviewer of Journal of JSME.
Currently his research interests include Intelligent Manufacturing (precision machining, additive manufacturing, micro machining, plastic processing), Laser processing (laser forming, laser coloring, surface treatment), Robotics (intelligent control of robot manipulator, micromanipulation robot, mobile robot, human-machine interface) and Digital Manufacturing (CAD/CAM, process planning, reverse engineering, geometric modeling).
Prof. Zhu has published over 100 papers on international journals and international conferences, over 70 papers can be found at google scholar.
