Chengzhi Yuan received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in control theory and applications from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2009 and 2012, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA, in 2016. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Mechanical, Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at The University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI, USA.
His research interests span over general areas of dynamic systems and control theory, with particular focuses on analytical adaptive learning and control, hybrid systems, and multi-robot distributed control. He has authored and co-authored over 60 journal articles and conference papers. He has served extensively as associate editor, chair and co-chair, program committee member in numerous international conferences. In particular, he serves in the technical program committee for the American Control Conference 2018. He serves as a special issue guest editor for the journal of IET Control Theory & Applications in 2018, and the journal of Advances in Mechanical Engineering in 2017 and 2018.
